1.1.1.1 Responsibilities

The company Engineered Materials strives to achieve a Zero Injury Culture. Our operating methodology relies on four key principles: Clear Expectations, Safe Equipment and Facilities, Effective Performance Management, and a Skilled and Knowledgeable Workforce. The primary role of the SHE Manager is to ensure these principles are incorporated into our culture through strong safety leadership and employee engagement and involvement.

Minimize SHE risks and promote employee’s awareness by proper risk assessment, prioritizing, implementation, monitoring & audit and continuous improvement. Implement, maintain SHE policy, and continuously improvement in China region. Manage The company SHE Management System compliance issues, build up and promote advanced SHE culture. Manage site PSM systems and to ensure in compliance with The company Safety codes. Keep good collaboration and relationship with local authority including EPA, Fire Bureau, Public Security Bureau, Hygiene Bureau and Safety Production Supervision Bureau.

1.1.1.2 Duties Performed

1. Take the SHE leadership role in China acting as China SHE interface to The company AP SHE, Corporate SHE, China offices and customers;

2. Keep management system updated on the latest applicable SHE legislation, regulations, codes of practice, China and The company corporate standards. Update the site SHE procedures and improve the SHE programs accordingly;

3. Maintain, release, review, revise effective and efficient Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health Management System for operations in The company China to ensure SHE performance meets local and China legislative and corporate standards.

4. Ensure appropriate periodic risk assessments and audits are carried out to detect existing or potential hazards and to monitor the effectiveness of the SHE Management System;

5. Recommend corrective or preventative measures to reduce and eliminate workplace accidents, occupational health and /or environmental hazards and risks;

6. Develop and implement appropriate monitoring plans and processes to maintain, measure and report on Company’s SHE performance. Ensure management, employees, corporate SHE as well as the relevant government agencies and public are updated on the company SHE performance through the required regular reports and other appropriate communications;

7. Assist site manager to navigate site SHE committee effectively; ensure SHE committee be a good bridge to tie up top-down and bottom-up communications;

8. Assist in the development of annual SHE objectives, targets, projects and plans;

9. Ensure SHE awareness and proficiency in SHE practices is maintained through systematic training for all levels of the China organization (site, labs, Shanghai offices);

10. Keep a solid communication link with site management and Regional SHE teams. Provide input to regional and corporate SHE leaders; work with them to launch new SHE initiatives and continuously improving China SHE performance;

11. Play active role in regional SHE team and make contribution by good practices/ lessons sharing; and Co-ordinate site team on Best Practice and lessons Sharing;

12. Make sure adequate Management Reviews in the field of SHE are being performed. Facilitate, support and, if needed, challenge management to perform these reviews, addressing minimum requirements of which risk assessment and control reviews form an essential element;

13. Coordinate with local authority about regulatory inspections and notifications for all The company facilities in China;

14. Coach and develop local SHE Team.

Qualification and Requirement

- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering, or a related

- 7 years working experience in the roles of chemical engineer or safety engineer at a chemical manufacturing facility with international working environment.

- A proven track record in good performance on PSM fields

- Good inter-personal, able to effectively communicate with Government Bureau Officers

- A team player
