Position Summary:
Engage in Strategic Supply Chain Management activities across a value stream. Primary focus will be validation of alternate sources of material in assemblies that are currently manufactured in the Shanghai, China manufacturing plant. Additional responsibilities include qualification of new material sources in Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute validation plans for alternate sources of material in a localized region, with specific focus on localization of sources in Asia
• Drive cost savings for all assemblies by partnering with contract manufacturers and utilizing VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) best practices
• Understand market demand and proactively manage supplier partners to meet customer demand while minimizing liability
• Support the development of a preferred supplier base in Asia for commodities including sheet metal, machined parts, plastics, electronics, and other fabricated materials.
• Support the defined global outsourcing strategy and preferred partners
• Ability to align value stream based sourcing management with site/divisional/corporate initiatives to deliver effective cash flow management including Low Cost Region sourcing as needed.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and make sourcing decisions in accordance with sourcing strategies, negotiating purchase order terms and contracts
• Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed with EPM sourcing managers for adherence to established standards and results obtained
• Serves as the primary technical point of contact with the supply base to insure alignment of technical capabilities and deliverables at the selected suppliers in the selected region
• Provides assistance in the RFQ process by assisting in the development of the documentation package, confirming all requirements are included
• Assist in the technical portion of the TCO model

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required with applicable work experience.
• APICS and or ISM certification is desirable.

• Experience in implementation of lean manufacturing and other world class manufacturing/purchasing practices required
• Experience in outsourcing to low cost regions
• Experience managing a Contract Manufacturer as well as OEM and ODM supply chain partners
• The ability to perform financial analysis including experience with TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) models
• The ability to negotiate and implement multi tiered supplier agreements including VOMI and consignment arrangements
• Project based proficiency with a track record of outsourcing high level assemblies

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: (Bullet 3-5 key quantifiable skills or position requirements that the candidate must have to be considered for this position.)

• 5-7 years of experience in supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience developing and documenting material validation plans.
• CAD or Solidworks experience required
• Multi-lingual including Mandarin Chinese and English
• Work with R&D Engineers to insure clarity and integrity technical documentation package

Work with NPD teams and suppliers to insure both Design for Manufacturability as well as Reliability, testability, maintainability and DFSC (Design for Supply Chain).
