JOB TITLE:
Sales Manager
POSITION REPORTS TO:
Sales Director/National Sales Mgr
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the VP of Sales, provide strategic direction for introducing and developing sales markets in assigned geographic regions. Drive private practice and institutional sales activities for the assigned product family.
Provide daily as well as strategic direction for sales activities for assigned region.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish sales relationships and channels for assigned products in new and emerging marketplaces to displace competition and gain marketshare.
Analyze and manage sales and market share data to ensure organic growth and alignment of territory priorities.
Drive increased effectiveness and efficiency through value selling and Voice of Customer initiatives to ensure a customer centric organization.
Assess and manage sales funnel to drive forecast and planning accuracy.
Provide direction and communication to & from Sales leadership to understand the manufacturing, customer service, marketing, quality and engineering issues to ensure alignment and awareness of business conditions, on-going activities, process improvements, unmet needs.
Understand marketplace robustly to provide the data to report on performance objectives, KPIs and countermeasures to ensure achievement of sales goals.
Manage and develop regular sales funnel reports and sales achievement action plans to position region for growth.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with sales channel through regular participation in events, travel to customers, sales ride-alongs etc.
Actively ensure increasing mindshare of sales channel through creative sales & marketing efforts such as: product offerings, promotions, campaigns, and training.
Sales: Drive the sale of all relevant brands of Assigned product into the market through authorized distribution channels or through direct sales efforts.
Tenders: manage the pricing, specifications, logistics and submittal of all tenders either through distributor or direct sales channels.
Distribution management: select and support all authorized distribution partners to reach short and mid term sales objectives/commitments. Develop a training program for distributor sales, service and support personnel to maintain knowledge and focus. Ensure ordering processes are clear, understood and adhered to. Work with dealer management to establish specific daily management objectives and schedule regular meetings to review performance and counter measures.
Sales support: co-travel with and in support of all dealer sales personnel, attend all applicable tradeshows, tech nights, lectures and seminars in support of dealer personnel and end users. Be the first contact for distributor sales, service and support personnel for all questions related to the sales, care and use of our products
Lead development of sales and marketing strategy within the assigned region and ensure allocation of appropriate resources.
Strategic planning: evaluate and report competitive positioning, trends, and opportunities as well as market trends in order to assist in formulating strategic initiatives for the responsible markets.
Market and competitor observation: manage systematic observation for the responsible markets and provide feedback to Charlotte based sales and marketing.
Product development: evaluate and collect market and competitor information for input to innovation and product development of competitive products.
Market development: maintain contact and work closely with universities and all other opinion leaders to further develop market activities and product awareness. Create VOC (Voice of Customer) where additional information may need to be evaluated.
Administrative: provide all requested administrative requirements in a timely, complete, concise and accurate fashion
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience/Education: BS degree.
8+ years of combined sales & sales management experience. Dental experience strongly preferred. Or Medical device bakcground
Skills/Aptitude/Talent:
Excellent project management skills
Strong communication and relationship development skills
Excellent analytical and prioritization skills
Successful associate development experience
Good team management skill
Working Conditions:
75% travel.
