Purpose of Position: (General statement of why job exists, most important aspects, major criteria for successful performance, etc.)
1. Managing one continuous (24h/7d) and two discontinuous (8h-12h/5d) production lines;
2. Providing leadership to the production team in accomplishing facility goals and objectives in support of divisional and company objectives;
3. Meet established product line specifications, quality standards, productivity objectives, and safety requirements.
4. Support plant participative philosophy and programs.
Nature and Scope: (Includes superior, peer and subordinate reporting relationships and major dimensions of each.)
External Contacts: Sales Engineers, and Customers.
Reports To: Plant Manager
Internal Contacts: Continuous interaction with other plant functions including Production Control, Accounting, Process, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Engineering, and Human Resources.
Major Job Functions and Tasks: (Use asterisk [*] to denote essential functions in compliance with ADA - specifics against which performance is measured.)

MAJOR JOB FUNCTION TASK

1. Plant Production
a. Plans anddirectsproduction employees
to ensure that finished goods are
produced in accordance with production
schedules.

b. Communicates planned performance
objective (rates, yields, etc.) and
monitors performance and production to
ensure that standards are met for the product lines.

c. Initiative plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of
manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Assure attainment of business
objectives and productions schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our
customers’ expectations.

d.Review the production schedule and
communicate revisions to direct reports,
other departments and the division as
necessary.

e.Work closely with the Quality Assurance
department to ensure that manufacturing
specifications to achieve product quality
requirements are met.



2. New Product/Process Development
a. Assists in developing and implementing
new products and processes and
coordinates major equipment
modifications and process improvements
with the production schedule.

3. Customer Support
a. Support Sales team with
informations to maintain and improve
customer relationships;


4. Safety
a. Ensure that a safe and hazard free work
environment exists in the production
area;
b. Act as a team leader for the plant safety
program by conducting safety tours and
accident investigations, enforcing safety
regulations and policies, and ensure that
direct reports observe and enforce all
safety regulations and policies.

5. Participative Management
a. Work to establish management practices throughout
assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for construction input and action..

b. Monitor, refine, and expand the use of
SPC in all production areas.

6. Production Management
a. Directs the activities of a team of
Production Supervisors. Coaches and
encourages their performance to
objectives.

b. Ensures that all plant policies and
procedures are followed in a timely
fashion.

c. Assist in Human Resource activities
(interviewing, team meetings, plant
activities, manpower planning, etc.).

d. Contributes to the decision making
efforts of the Plant Staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed: (Degree, experience, skills such as personal computing, etc.)

Education:
Bachelor degree in Engineering,Management,Manufacturing.Technicaldegree preferred.

Experience:
Ten+ years experience in manufacturing/engineering in a continuous process environment with supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum of 8 years progressively responsible experience in areas mentioned above.
