Job Description
The Inventory Management roles will report to Commercial Manager and be responsible for Inventory planning activities in DC and Customer's Satisfaction in the below areas:
- Manages inventory levels & the flow of material from the supplier, to replenish national and regional DC's
- Identify parts in VCC category based on rate of movement, set IM policy based on business objectives of balancing service, inventory and operating costs
- Forecast based on the analysis of historical sales; weekly review the inventory level of all parts; provide the monthly forecast to Purchasing team to plan safety stocks and the replenishment demand.
- Contact with/assist Purchasing team to assure the ATD and ATA of the replenishment order.
- Control material inventory at a reasonable level based on the planning strategy in areas of safety stock, lead time etc. Implement actions to control inventory slow-moving materials so as to minimize total write-off cost.
- Coordinate & lead regular cycle count, take active part in stock-take; be responsible for the inventory accuracy.
- Analyze the material inventory to make sure the reasonable inventory level is maintained and find ways for continuously improvement to obtain the optimum inventory level and to improve inventory service level.
- To provide accurate and timely reporting of inventory statistics when required by the superior or s and to review with customers on a regular basis.
- Work closely with markets to identify sales trends and patterns and market requirements
- Accountabilities:
- Service level (availability and back orders)
- Inventory value optimisation
- Stock turn improvement
- Obsolescence risk
- Schedule placement and quality
- Freight cost optimisation in combination with service level requirements
- End to end Supply Chain process improvement
Requirements & Experience
- Previous Supply Chain Management experience is desirable.
- Good interpersonal and customer facing skills, ability to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a sometimes pressurised environment
- A conscientious, flexible and "can do" working style
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and to liaise effectively with other internal departments.
- Confidence to deal with difficult situations and to know when appropriate to seek guidance from line manager.
- Good team working skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proven desire to update knowledge and skill set when required.
