Tasks and Responsibilities
1 Provide first line technical support to production by interacting with Engineering and MFG staff to ensure a smooth transition of new product introduction
2 Decides, develops, and plans sequence of operations to produce parts in accordance with part drawings
3 Help on making tool designs, models and drawings for tooling and fixtures required for part manufacturing
4 Plans and programs turning/milling/boring/grinding/broaching CNC operations in accordance with drawing requirements, transfers product design criteria into machine requirements and engineering CAD files into CAM programs
5 Assures effective communication with all parties involved in the process, provides recommendations to improve processes/yields/quality and reduces costs.
6 Creates, maintains, and organizes libraries of CNC programs, DXF and other related files, e.g. SAP

Knowledge & Skills Summary:
1 Proficient with CAD/CAM/CAE systems, e.g. AutoCAD, ProE, MasterCAM or SurfCAM, FAUNC
2 Ability to read mechanical blueprints
3 Applicant should be well organized, efficient and must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with shop floor employees
4 Fluent English in speaking and in written, along with average computer skills are preferred


Education and work Experience:
1 Minimum of an Associates degree in Mechanical Technology or equivalent
2 Minimum of 3 years experience as a programmer/machinist in heavy metal industrial manufacturer
3 Proven knowledge of Fanuc controls and G code CNC programming for 4 or 5 axis CNC equipment
4 Knowledge of tools/fixtures for machining is preferred
