Job description:
1. Under direction of senior scientific staff, create innovative products/ processes/methods through novel combinations of expertise within the organization.
2. Reach conclusions based on research analysis and incorporate recommendations into larger projects. Apply advanced techniques to solving difficult problems.
3. Approve technical feasibility of complex design concepts within area of expertise; advise management regarding appropriate action.
4. Independently plan, execute and manage projects/programs that both span multiple disciplines and utilize established methods, techniques or approaches.
5. Implement new or improved techniques and procedures around specific tasks; write and implement SOP's. Implement research outlines for large scientific projects. Apply state-of-the-art techniques in the area of expertise to develop new or improved products.
6. Shares research outcomes, methodology and cycle-time reduction methods with team members and other divisional personnel.
7. Maintain current knowledge of relevant Quality System Regulations and other regulatory requirements related to research and development (product development, design and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities.
8. In addition to having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of GxP and related regulations and guidance, is able to provide expert insights into such regulations so as to facilitate efficient product registration and/or is an active participant in the generation, review, adoption and interpretation of such regulations.
9. May supervise and direct Research Associates.
10. Manage multiple new product development projects simultaneously;
11. Closely work with Project team to understand consumer needs and business strategy and develop technical strategy/plan as the technical leader;
12. Actively interact with project team to ensure effective product development

Qualifications:
1. Must possess working knowledge of specific scientific discipline governing day-to-day activities.
2. Must be able to able to carry out strategy and vision set by upper management and be able to communicate the vision to more junior associates.
3. Ability to make routine and some less routine decisions independently.
4. Can effectively communicate with internal and external customers with English.
5. Ability to break down technical processes and effectively delegate to junior team members.
6. Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to shift gears between projects comfortably.
7. BS, MS or PhD degrees in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy or related field.
8. Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 10 years experience, MS with at least 5-7 years, or PhD with 0-2 years in relevant discipline required.
9. QSR research lab experience essential and GMP experience desirable.
10. Research lab experience includes research in GMP/QSR environment and cross-functional teamwork.
11. Experiences in developing/manufacturing terminally sterilized liquid products is a big plus;
12. Leadership of technical teams, and project management experience is desirable
