Job Title: Software Development Engineer
Requirement:
1. Knowledge and uses.Net programming platform (C#, VB), Java (added advantage), oracle, MSSQL in and has been working for 3 to 5 years as a developers.
2. Domain knowledge of electronics manufacturing environment. MES Knowledge will be an added advantage.
3. English language competence
4. Competence: Programming (Level 2), Functional Specification (Level 1 or 2)

Candidate Role and responsibility
Role / Purpose: Design and implement AMT software products. Participate in and/or lead product development projects including, specifications, design, scheduling, implementation and maintenance so that schedules and releases are predictable and measurable against project objectives and goals.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Design, improve, implement, and release software that meets functionality, usability, reliability, performance, and supportability requirements.
2. Interface with other developers as needed to understand and manage interdependencies of project tasks, product and flow integration issues. Participate in reviews and/or inspections of, designs, specifications, and code.
3. Participate in and/or lead project planning and tracking – task investigation, work breakdown, and schedule estimation. Keep project team members, Customer Support and Sales informed of project risks and status. Ensure task and schedules are met.
4. Write functional and design specifications and other project documentation. Review internal and external product documentation and provide appropriate input to others, e.g. customer, third party providers, etc.
5. Work with deployment team member and possibly sales and customers, to understand and support customer needs and requirements.
6. Coordinate efforts with deployment Team members to ensure quality software releases.
7. Acquire and maintain knowledge of current tools, languages, and processes as determined necessary to support design, implementation, and release of the software product.

The following will be used to judge the depth of competency for candidate.
Competency: Programming (Minimum level 2 competency)
Definition: Knowledge of activities, tasks, practices, deliverables and techniques for programming new or enhanced applications.
Description:
1.0 Basic understanding of the subject matter. (C#, VB, Oracle, MSSQL)
1.1 Understand the use of programming language reference documents.
1.2 Familiar with the capabilities of major programming languages and uses relevant programming skill to deliver project task.
1.3 Understands functionality of programming tools including compilers, debuggers, linkers and editors.
1.4 Familiar with the syntax, structure, features and facilities of a relevant language.
2.0 Substantial experience in a specific environment.
2.1 Handles tasks at an increased level of complexity.
2.2 Understands functionality of more complex programming tools including make files, scripting languages and profilers.
3.0 Extensive experience in multiple or diverse environments: Collaborative development and lead of a specific task.
4.0 Subject matter depth and breadth; architecture, strategy.

Competency: Functional Specification (Level 1), if candidate with MES knowledge, (level 2)
Definition: Ability to clearly translate customer needs and associated requirements into a product functional specification.

1.1 Can identify key concepts behind features of the subject matter.
1.2 Can cite industry or company examples of usage of application of the subject matter.
1.3 Is aware of major initiatives, key issues and benefits of the subject matter.
1.4 Knows where and how to obtain more information.
2.0 Substantial experience in a specific environment. (MES)
2.1 Handles 1.1-1.4 tasks at an increased level of complexity.
2.2 Has experience working with the subject matter in a limited (homogeneous) environment.
2.3 Has worked with all basic features, functions, facilities.
2.4 Can identify relevant standards, policies and practices.
2.5 Has an understanding of operational issues and considerations.
2.6 Can cite examples of usage in different environments.
3.0 Extensive experience in multiple or diverse environments: Collaborative development and lead of a specific task.
4.0 Subject matter depth and breadth; architecture, strategy.
