Job Description:

The procurement Engineer supports and advises the RD department during the product development in terms of component technology, supplier choice, cost definition. The procurement engineer is responsible to perform BOM benchmarks and value analysis. The procurement engineer is a regular member of PIT and DTC projects.

1. Support R&D process;

2. Cost optimization by early involvement of supplier know-how and technology;

3. Value analysis; Target costing; Benchmarking;

4. Ensure preferred supplier concept during product development process;

5. Propose and support design-to-cost projects;

6. Initiate productivity projects;

7. Ensure knowledge transfer from supplier to OSRAM R&D;

8. Strong collaboration with worldwide R&D departments and purchasing ;

Job Requirement:

1. University degree (BA, MA) in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Optics. Additionally MBA or related commercial education;

2. At least 3 years relevant working experience at RD and/or procurement, preferred in a related industry environment;

3. Expert in all kinds of mechanics, materials, optics development related supplier levels, for components and systems;

4. Advanced in supplier selection and cost related processes based on new product development

5. Good communication skills:

Internal: RD, Purchasing , Engineering ,Marketing and Quality departments, local and international

External : Suppliers
