SMTS Silicon Design Engineer

THE ROLE:

AMD physical design engineer team works with different functional teams (IP, Silicon, Power, DFX, etc.) to implement physical design for the APU/CPU from SYN to final tape out. You will touch all physical design related technologies. You will have chances to see how they will be implemented in our product.

THE PERSON:

A strong team leader to communicator with different teams, oversee the team’s project progress. A quick learner for new technologies. Excellent communication skill (both verbal and written), including Mandarin and English. Key performance skills include decision making, problem solving, teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Help critical/difficult blocks, give the suggestion, and resolve all kinds of issue ? Critical blocks owner.

? Leader of all blocks in one project, control blocks progress for each milestone, provide feedback to IP/FEI on time. Follow up the block’s quality not only block level, but also crossing all the teams, PHYV/IR/FCT/Clocks etc.

? Improve PPA in every project.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

? Block/IP lead experience is a must.

? Hand-on experience in all domains of complex blocks physical design from plan to final tapeout.

? Knowledgeable python, familiar with scripting languages like perl/tcl…

? Strong problem solving, Strong debugging skills. Can root cause issues quickly.

? Strong communication skills with different teams and different people.

? Good knowledge on physical design signoff methodologies like power/timing/phyv etc.

? Experience in power-aware physical design is an asset.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

? MS with 7+ or BS with 9+ years’ experience in SOC physical designer. An advanced degree will be a plus.
