Responsibilities:


To manage technical and engineering activities for the company according to agreed objective such as cost control, safety management, environment, plant reliability, engineering standards and manpower development.


To undertake and mange projects, aimed at:
- new product development/product modifications
- plant reliability
- Sales supporting and site problem solving
- cost reduction
- engineers management and training


It is the intention of keeping the manufacturing and engineering departments as 2 separate entities.
The appointee’s tasks will comprise, inter alia:
-Engineering
The incumbent will be responsible for the total assets within his/her section (mech/elec/instr).
-Product Development / Testing
-Quality Assurance / Quality Management System (QMS)
-Customer Interface / Technical Support
-Budgets Controlling
-Man-management
-Planned LEAN / Maintenance Programs
-Technical services and support
-Technical Presentations / Investigative Reports
-Competitors Evaluating
-International Projects
-ISO
-Liaison
-Hosting Company Visitors:
-Travel locally and internationally

Requirements:

Engineering degree (mechanical or industrial) minimum and electrical knowledge is essential.
At least 5 years’ experience in managing a multi-disciplinary engineering team in a similar industry environment (plastic injection molding, heavy machines or other plastic industry).
Best suited would be a mechanical engineer with electrical knowledge as well as some manufacturing plant experience
Knowledge of mechanical design and hydraulic
Project management experience and R & D product development experience is required.
Good knowledge of strength of materials is most desirable.
Manufacture of tools and mental moulding experience would be a recommendation.
Man-management experience is essential.
Must be computer literate, mainly MS suite, incl PowerPoint, Excel and Auto CAD/ ProE or similar.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Plus is also knowledge of sheet metal, plastic fabrication, casting, steel bar, hydraulic machines, safety issues
