THE ROLE:
AMD Client platform development is part of Client platform engineering and be responsible for
delivering the customer reference, silicon BU and validation platforms for all AMD Client
products. You will be working with the global function teams on physical platform designs and
driving both the dependencies and deliverables to hit the platform release milestones, drive both
inside and outside of AMD to accomplish complex projects with aggressive schedule and
challenges.

THE PERSON:
Has strong electrical technical background and expertise on x86 system for laptop, desktop,
workstation design. Demonstrated design leadership of complex cross-functional teams in a R&D
environment. Independently solve the system related issues, able to collect the necessary
data/inputs and provide the team proposals for final decision making. Has excellent
communication skills in both English and mandarin and be able to work independently in a global
work environment. Always thinking more and creatively for improvement and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
？ Working with the global teams on physical system hardware designs. Driving both the
platform related dependencies and deliverables.
？ Platform spec definition and influence technical discussions and decisions with system
architects and function leaders.
？ Develop solutions with consideration of functional, performance, production, and cost
within the scope of specified concept.
？ Firmware (BIOS, EC, PD) guidance for platform initialization.
？ System bring-up, feature enablement and drive issues to closure. Strong trouble shooting
skills.
？ Work with multiple suppliers or 3rd party vendors for new solution deployment.

？ Documentation release and review for ODM/OEM customers.
？ Contribute on the continues productivity improvement.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
？ Bachelor 8+ years/Master 6+ years in x86 system, analog and digital design.
？ Good at CAD Tools, including but not limited to OrCAD, Allegro, and Concept HDL..
？ Deep knowledge on PCB technological, thermal, Impedance and EMI impact.
？ Strong technology in high speed IO design and debug.
？ Deep knowledge in the communication protocol like I2C, SPI, HDA, I2S.
？ Familiar with PC, mobile or server system architecture.
？ Familiar with ODM/OEM commercial and consumer product reliability verification,
validation, and compatibility testing flow.
？ Lab equipment skillsets, including soldering, oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, etc.
？ BIOS knowledge or C or Linux C or MCU is an excellent plus.
？ Strong leadership, good in verbal, written, documentation and presentation
communication skills.
？ Proficient English and Mandarin (listening, writing, and speaking).

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
An electrical/computer Engineering Bachelor’s degree above plus 8 years of x86 based
system motherboard design experience.
