EHS Manager / Director

Main Responsibilities

? Drives improvement of safety performance in the business unit
? Plan and update environmental programs with objectives and measurement systems.
? Ensures expertise and support to the business unit on safety and environment matters.
? Identify and address environmental issues and make corrective actions as needed.
? Adapts, implements and maintains business unit safety policies in line with global safety policy.
? Monitors legal changes locally and global developments in safety matters and initiates necessary actions.
? Plans, documents, follows up and monitors the implementation of safety processes and procedures.
? Defines safety targets for budget and for long-term planning to be approved by the line management.
? Monitors the safety auditing process and regular workplace visits.
? Involves line management in workplace safety audits
? Maintains accident & near miss incident investigation process, and monitors the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
? Monitors the IIFR.
? Drives the sharing of safety related information throughout the business unit, including investigation outcomes and best practices.
? Ensures implementation and effectiveness of the safety committee in their units. Actively contributes to the safety committee activities in their units.
? Participates in global safety activities and takes an active role in global initiatives and projects related to safety.
? Participates in global quarterly Safety Team Meetings to contribute in sharing and implementing best practices and information .
? Represents the company to external stakeholders (authorities, clients) in safety matters, under direction from legal representatives.
? Develops and maintains his/her own competences as safety manager.
? Drives and supports the development of safety competences of others.
? Complies with all ISO 14001 requirements and OHSAS 18001 requirements

Skills and Qualification

? Written and spoken English
? Good knowledge of ISO9001 /ISO 14001 (general knowledge of work health and safety)
? M.Sc. or Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
? At least 5 years of professional experience
