Role & Responsibilities:

This electrical engineer plays a key role in driving conformance to electrical product specifications at a component and systems level as well as driving high quality and efficient assembly of consumer electronic devices.

This role is to assist and interface between our US / HK design engineering teams and Asia-based electronic component suppliers and contract manufacturers, from NPI builds through mass production and across multiple simultaneous programs.

Manage Asia-based PCB manufacturing, SMT execution and process improvement

Manage and drive electrical failure analysis during NPI builds, into MP, and through EOL

Work with Contract Manufacturers & key electrical component sub-suppliers to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges through DFM and DFT iterations

Develop, review and execute equipment requirement plans to support new product manufacturing and test.

Work with cross functional teams to implement and optimize manufacturing and process efficiency. ？ Bridge the gap with OEM partners by supporting development of builds and production.

Support cost reduction and sustaining activities.

Perform SQA for electrical sub-suppliers, including batteries, cables, sensors, RF, PCB.

Help identify and evaluate potential electronics components suppliers to reduce supply chain risk.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

8+ years of experience in manufacturing/operations of consumer electronic devices

English fluency in technical and engineering topics and terminology

Proven experience bringing complex electro-mechanical products to market

Direct responsibility for managing NPI Electrical Engineering including SMT, system characterization and failure analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering Development

Direct experience managing functional engineering teams and working with CM partners.

Excellent track record managing cross-functional teams to achieve new product objectives, i.e. cost, quality & yield.

Ability to travel frequently to CM partners and sub-suppliers

Fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker

Ability to work independently, generating results without focused oversight

Experience with products utilizing wireless protocols such as BTLE, WiFi and Wireless Charging
