Summary Description:

The business development Manager is responsible for leading the business unit to define and execute new opportunities/growth plans in assigned target segments or territories.  The position is focused on developing an intimate understanding of the market, establish frame-work & business models, building value-added relationships with target partners / customers, and working with a global team of Sales professionals, Field Applications, operation and RD teams to expand business with new and existing customers.

This individual will be responsible for managing and achieving the revenue and profit growth goals of the business unit in assigned target segments or territories.

Key Candidate Attributes:

·        Strong technical and business background in consumer electronic industry, computing, mobile device or IoT related system level engineering background will be a plus

·        Outstanding leadership & influencing skills cross functions, with a strong sense of urgency and the drive to succeed in a highly competitive market.

·        Critical thinking skills and the ability to think tactically and strategically.

·       A track record of proven success in business development, sales/FAE, marketing and product management positions, including the development and successful execution of strategic and tactical business plans.

Position responsibilities:

Leadership

·        Lead/work with the business unit teams (Product line mgrs., Product Engineering, Applications, Design, etc.) to define new opportunities, establish frame-work/business models, build partner-ship product roadmaps consistent with customer needs, and select new products for development among numerous investment opportunities.

·        Develop and lead the execution of business strategies for customers in the target segments to achieve revenue and profit goals.

·        Build cooperative relationships with Sales, Manufacturing and Operations,

P&L Responsibility

·        Achieve revenue and profit goals for target product portfolio.

·        Develop pricing strategies to achieve market penetration and profit objectives.

·        Develop revenue and unit volume forecasts based on market trends, customer input, etc.

·        Represent the business unit in contract negotiations with key customers.

Portfolio Management

·        Manage the life-cycle of the product portfolio and individual product families from introduction and growth to end-of-life.

·        Support demand forecasting and inventory planning.

Market Knowledge / Experience

·        Experience in sales, FAE or marketing/product management, strategic business planning & development, new product development;

·        Intimate knowledge of the wireless, computing, IoT and consumer electronics market, including familiarity with relevant key suppliers and customers.

·        Proven success in marketing/business development, and product & technology management.

·        Proven experience on business strategy, business development, marketing.

The Candidate  Experience:

Possess at least 5-10 years of demonstrated success in the consumer electronic industry.  Candidates should have a strong technical background with proven experience in technologies designed into mobile handset, interfacing with R & D, Operations, sales, marketing and experience leading a team of product and application professionals such as managing full lifecycle and concept to mass launch. The candidate must demonstrate good business sense, critical thinking skills, outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to succeed.

Education:  Bachelors and Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical.  MBA is a strong plus.
