Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with all marketing, project management, purchasing, R&D lab, product design, and manufacturing personnel through the various stages of advanced quality planning (Gates GAPQP).

Represents Gates in dealing with customer supplier quality and engineering personnel quality issues.

Where necessary, provides skills as internal auditor, conducts parts audits at supplier base, and ensures that all related documentation, records, and procedures, etc. are maintained per established IATF16949 and customer requirements.

   

Key duties include:

1. Works with product development teams, customer and supplier representatives to facilitate manufacturing, quality feasibility in new product design and participates in updating quality segments of GAPQP system. Report to manager, issues that could effected the product or timing.
2. Comprehends customer/manufacturing requirements re: gage ability, statistical control, and tools such as FMEA and inputs as necessary with design, manufacturing, and supplier personnel.
3. Comprehends customer PPAP objectives as established and dictated by customer requirements as they apply to system and sub-component product. Submit and obtain customer full PPAP approval with no issues.
4. Travel to suppliers to discuss/resolve issues with SQE if necessary.
5. Travel to customers to represent Gates and resolve potential or perceived issues. Participate in problem solving teams.
6. Maintain and track, until resolution, suppliers’ 8-Ds, MREAs, and production status reports, ensuring components and assemblies are fully production approved. Submit a month end report detailing status of programs and issues.
7. Contribute to VA/VE cost down items to meet goals & targets of gates.

                                   

Education and Experience:

• BS degree (4- years) is preferred
• 5 years experiences in quality control
• Familiar with PPAP, SPC, MSA, etc.
• Prior experience in manufacturing is a must
• Willing to travel frequently and able to work under high pressure
• Must be fulient in Korean

    

Required Skills:

• Must be capable of assessing production/design problem correctly and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Must have good organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Must possess sound knowledge of GD&T drawings, dimensioning, and gauging/measuring practices. A fundamental and thorough knowledge of product component to assembly and customer application is required.
• Must possess advanced statistical skills; design for experiments, process flow charts, failure mode and effect analysis, control plans, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies. Basic mechanical aptitude for problem solving.
• Must be able to organize multiple tasks to meet established deadlines and have good computer skills.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, Project, etc.
