Section Manager Supply Chain

THE ROLE:

The Board Operations Section Manager will lead a team of project planners who provide manufacturing services to internal Platform Engineering and limited external customers while coordinating and managing these prototype manufacturing requirements with external Contract Manufacturers. The Section Manager will also have regular communication with internal Business Unit teams and internal customers, manage escalations with Contract Manufacturers, and provide executive communication with Board Operations leadership. This position will also require direct oversight of manufacturing projects, in addition to managing other planners performing the same duties.

THE PERSON:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managerial

？ Lead team of project planners, assisting in assignment of project responsibilities

？ Perform routine management functions such as providing direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance, administration of company policies that directly affect subordinate employees, and one-on-one guidance and coaching

？ Lead interactions with Contract Manufacturers’ management teams, including escalation and forecast discussions

？ Represent planning team in discussions and project meetings with Business Unit and customer teams

？ Regularly report consolidated project statuses and other metrics as needed to Operations Management

？ Receive assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet those goals

Planning

？ Coordinate internal prototype turn-key PCBA manufacturing requirements with external contract manufacturers. This includes monitoring material availability and communicating issues back to internal customers.

？ Interface with internal Project Coordination, Program Management and engineering teams to schedule and manage external prototype PCBA manufacturing.

？ Create and maintain detailed requirements data in manufacturing and allocation management tools. This includes working with external Contract Manufacturers to plan available line capacity and resource requirements.

？ Drive ECO and MCO changes from engineering team into contract manufacturer and ensure changes are properly communicated and executed as instructed.

？ Procure or arrange procurement for consigned material such as internal chipsets and printed circuit boards.

？ Communicate status to and handle escalations from internal customers, Business Unit leads or Operations ManagementPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/AS in electrical discipline.
• APICS certification or strong materials management background recommended.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PC based software suites including MS Windows, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
• Experience with MRP systems such as SAP strongly recommended.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills.
