Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

? Responsible for improving productivity and lowering unit cost. Identify and evaluate problems and develop improvements to production, distribution, packaging material usage and methods of operations by using proven Industrial Engineering techniques to reduce unit cost, improve quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

? Impact on Business:
? Lower overall unit cost, reduce overall operational cost whether those costs are directly related to the payroll or operational expenses.
? Increase productivity and efficiency within the warehouse and also improve service to the customers.
? Improve warehouse management decision-making capability.
? Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.
? Present and sell recommendations to the Senior Manager Warehousing, Asia and potentially all levels of management.
? Develop and maintain labor standards for designated job functions within the distribution center
? Configure and maintain the Manhattan labor management productivity tracking software program
? Conduct feasibility studies of various projects to determine the value of an investment and provide an economical justification for capital appropriations.
? Customer/Suppliers/Third Parties:
? Serve as an outside consultant to the operation making recommendations to the warehouse management team to improve internal and external processes.
? Assist global facilities in design, configuration, and management of the Manhattan labor management program
? Interacts with hourly distribution to determine best methods and will also serve as an agent for change within the warehouse.
? Innovation and Change:
? Use proven acceptable engineering techniques and recommend positive change to current and existing processes.
? Analyze complex processes and recommend positive change.
? Must interact with all levels of management

Key Relationships:

? Communicate and interact with all levels of the warehouse management team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

? Fluent Mandarin and conversational/technical English
? Broad background in Industrial Engineering technology and application.
? Must be able to identify and evaluate problems and develop improvements to production, packaging material usage and methods of operations by using proven Industrial Engineering techniques.
? Be able to utilize any recognized industrial engineering techniques effectively and produce tangible results.
? Identifying, evaluating, and developing project solutions and recommendations for minimizing total operational costs.
? Project management skills recommended.
? Must be able to influence others.
? Position requires a candidate that has a thorough understanding of work measurement programs.
? Developing and implementing plant direct labor standards for costing, manning, and evaluating performance where required.
? Must be able to work independently
? Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
? Performing other special projects or assignments for the Senior Manager Warehousing, Asia
? Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods and also lift up to 50 lbs periodically

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
? Candidate should have a degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field with 2-5 years experience in a distribution center environment.
? Competency with Excel, Word, Access and MS Project is required.
? Experience with AutoCad is highly desirable
? Experience with WMS systems is highly desirable
