Purpose Statement:
The role of job incumbent is to respond for the competence center of small size format SIG fillers including basic machine platform and serial design activities in Asia

The job incumbent has to redesign current machine concepts for a more economical usage of localized parts. Simplifying the current design but, maintaining robustness and functionality of mechanical concept.

He/She must prove himself/herself to be capable of R&D managing, communicating projects independently with logic and reliable manner.

The interpersonal skill is considerably required to get the results through the company's personnel of different geographical and functional areas. The job incumbent must also demonstrate himself/ herself excellent in living the company's values, code of conduct and core competencies.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible of equipment technology function development, product feasibility studies and concept design support.
2. Handling new/existing product development activities, cost reduction and improvements for existing and new developments
3. Promote and control development projects, lead and educate design team members.
4. Contact and coordinate with all concerned people at all level/ all departments for the achievement of the assignment.
5. Train and supervise subordinates.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering
Willing to travel. (60% in office / 40% out of office)
Good command of speaking, reading and writing English
Minimum 5 yeas of experience in R&D or design from packaging manufacturing environment.
Experience in the packaging industrial preferable.
Experience in handling R&D / New product development activities, cost reduction & product re-design or reverse engineering study of process & layout for existing and new development
Have a strong knowledge in design concepts, design process and design feature
Good understanding of norms and tolerances
Know how in special machinery or packaging industry is an advantage.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, welding, sheet metal and surface treatment)
Knowledge in Servo drive Design, state-of-the-art sensors/ switches/ mechatronic application, pneumatic & hydraulic standard elements is an advantage.
Experienced in using 3D CAD-programs and tools,- One Space Designer (OSD) is an advantage
Know-how in SAP and engineering data management (EDM) is an advantage
Good knowledge in using tools like Outlook, MSWord & Excel are a must.
Good interpersonal communication skill and service mind.
Good command of speaking, reading and writing English

Innovative, creative personality and problem solving with good communication skills

Company profile -SIG Combibloc
  SIG Combibloc is one of the world's leading system suppliers of aseptic carton packaging and filling machines for beverages and food with around 5,000 staff world-wide. Headquartered in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland.
  SIG Combibloc entered Chinese market as early as 1985. In July, 2004, the paper plant in Suzhou Industry Park had been in production on a 60,000 square meter site.
