Opportunity

AMD is seeking a GPU Solution Architect position supporting AMD Radeon Instinct GPU products in AMD EPYC based Server Platforms (A+A solutions) for China and rest of the APJ Mega Datacenters. This role is a Field Application Engineer (FAE) role and temporarily a contractor, will be transferred to permanent position after the headcount gets approval. This role encompasses coverage for China and APJ region customers.

Required Experience and Skills

• 3-5 years of CUDA or ROCm software development or technical support experience is a MUST.
• 3-5 years of software debug on GPU architecture in x86 based servers in Linux Application/Kernel environment to isolate failure and handoff to software developers.
• 3-5 years Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) and hands on experience in the setup and configuration of server systems including software, networking and storage infrastructure.
• Experience in application/workload profiling, tuning and performance optimization.
• I/O debug experience with SMBUS and I2C, PCIe bus analysis, Thermal & Cooling, Power supply and management in servers, SBIOS & VBIOS are bonus skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the sales staff to dig out opportunities, nail down the design-wins and get the technical proposal supported internally and get technical proposal adopted by customers;
• Lead the technical communication between AMD and assigned customers or the 3rd party which may be conjunction with AMD sales effort
• Regular roadmap communication to demonstrate new technology;
• Build up the good relationship with team members, partners and customers in support sales team objectives.
• Provides specific technical skills & support on sales campaigns to AMD Server sales staff as well as third party sales staff that may be working in conjunction with the AMD Server sales effort.
• Assist with the development of responses to Pipelines and Design-Wins, and analyzes customer's technical objectives.
• Assume technical lead on technical solution proposals of assigned local projects by collaborating with BU and engineering: review and edit final technical proposals.
• Assume technical lead to drive the communication with assigned customers for technical issues & future roadmap alignment;
• Build technical credibility by developing and delivering high-impact technical presentations. Work with Sales to determine how the new technology might impact the customer and assess potential opportunities.
• Successfully build relationships with sales team members, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives.

Education

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering required
