JOB TITLE HERE

THE ROLE:

RTG (Radeon Technologies Group) China Customer Engineering team is essential to the success of AMD as a growing company. We provide world class program and issue management support all tier-1/tier-2 customers like Apple, Lenovo, Huawei, Xiaomi, Dell, HP, ASUS etc. throughout RFQ, development, sustaining and EOL. Application Engineer is an important position to secure design wins and maintain great customer relationship. You will be working with the very best engineering teams in our technology, while working on some of the most exciting products the industry has to offer.

THE PERSON:

A self-motivated team player with fluent English in reading, writing and speaking. Able to work under high pressure and time limitation. Good communication skill and able to work with global stakeholders effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support post-silicon bring-up test, productization and provide solutions for both internal and external customers.
• Triage/Debug silicon and system issues with software, platform design and silicon design teams
• Accountable for all technical aspects of delivering differentiating software on AMD's APU and GPU platforms.
• Implementing optimizations in developer applications, and/or assisting developers in doing so.
• Provide developer guidance, performance analysis, software optimization, testing and implementation support.
• Write code samples for software developers to demonstrate a unique AMD feature or superior AMD performance.
• Identify technical differentiation opportunities and lead the implementation of identified technical goals.
• Collaborating with AMD Alliance teams to drive adoption of AMD platforms and business expansion.
• Participate with different teams to drive Graphic Driver issues to closure
• Drive short-term solution/WA to long-term solution

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Passion for building great software
• Five years or more of relevant work experience
• Strong technical skills and experience in software product development using C / C++.
• Experience in using and developing GPU software with knowledge on GPU architecture or experience in Windows Driver Model or development experience in driver is preferred.
• Experience with display driver on any platform (android hwcomposer, linux xorg/wayland, windows) is preferred.
• Knowledge of display pipeline (how the data is captured from framebuffer to panel or monitor) is a big plus.
• Know the concept of color space conversion, gamma, hardware blending, HDR is a plus.
• Familiar with CEA/VESA specification (HDMI/DP/HDCP) is a big plus.
• Experience in x86 optimizations, and other performance critical technologies
• Experience in software performance analysis and optimization
• Ability to quickly learn new skills and drive completion of business goals
• Experience working in a multi-site environment and ability to travel occasionally to meet with developers
• A team player, who is very self-motivated, loves difficult challenges, and is goal driven
• Excellent verbal/written communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive results is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Must have 6+ years of strong software development experience
