Role purpose / Accountabilities

Biotechnology China (SBC) is seeking motivated individuals to be part
of Agronomic Trait Group as members of Leads validation team. The person
will be the key members to accomplish the research objectives through
1. Providing technical expertise and knowledge to crop improvement in the area of drought tolerance or/and yield improvement
2
Designing and implementing experiments to dissect complex trait (e.g.
drought) to develop hypotheses and identify and evaluate leads efficacy
in greenhouse and field as well
3. Actively interacting scientists within AT group and other units to ensure critical milestones are met
4. Maintaining accurate experimental records according to company policies with outstanding attention to detail.
5. Performing all activities in compliance with company HSE guidelines




Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge
1. PhD or master with 2+ years experience in plant biology, physiology, genetics, breeding, or related field of study
2. Excellent knowledge of plant physiology




Critical experience
1. PhD or master
with 2+ years experience in plant biology, physiology, genetics,
breeding, or related field of study with a proven record of success in
the form of publications and/or patents
2. Experience in experimental
design to understand the physiology of plants grown under experimental
conditions in the lab, greenhouse and field.
3. Experience with state
of the art instrumentation that measuresplant growth and development as
well as biochemical and metabolic characteristics of plants
4. Experienced in drought tolerance and yield enhancement preferred
5. Experience in maize or soy or rice

1. Project planning, excuation and ensuring critical milestone are met
2. Experimental design, implementation and reporting of experiments results related to the physiology
3. Measurement plant growth and developments in greenhouse and field conditions
4. Good understanding of the growth and development of crops

6. Proficiency in use of standard office software (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint)
7. Able to use statistical software and conduct statistical analysis

11. Proficient in Chinese and English
