Senior Product Engineer for the Xbox game console, Kinect and Zune products in China.

This position understands the engineering design of Microsoft products and ensures that the products are shipped in highest quality during mass production. Successful candidate will lead a group of Product Engineers to drive yield improvement and quality improvement by understanding and resolving factory failures and early returns.

This position will heavily interact with the Xbox game console and accessories contract manufacturers, and must be skilled in a wide range of activities from designing and root cause analysis to the manufacturing engineering and managing experiments with outsourced contract manufacturers locating in Guangdong province of China. In order to be successful in this position, this individual must effectively collaborate with both the contract manufacturer and a variety of peer groups across the organization, including, but not limited to, Factory Management, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Test, Engineering, Quality, and Hardware Development.

Description:
- Ensure no quality excursion in mass production of products
- Understand product designs and provide engineering support at engineering builds
- Lead a group of engineers to track production problems and timely conduct fault isolation and failure analysis
- Being the engineering hub during mass production and proactively work with cross-groups to drive continuous improvement
- Provide engineering debug procedures to contract manufacturers for proper repairs
- Provide professional recommendation to Quality team for potential quality issues
- Require frequent travel to contract manufacturers for on-site support

Qualifications:
- Minimum BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
- 8+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and shipping products of medium to high complexity
- A solid understanding of core electrical engineering principles, circuit design and analysis
- Strong communication skills and must be able to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms
- Understand failure modes effects and analysis
- Strong technical understanding of industrial standard interfaces - SATA, USB, PCIe, 802.11b/g/n, Ethernet
- Strong understanding of multimedia interfaces are preferred - HDMI, HDTV, SPDIF
- Strong bench evaluation and in-lab debugging skills

- Understands entire product development and manufacturing processes related to high volume consumer electronics.
- Knowledge in computer architecture, system design and manufacturing environment
- Ability to understand test scripts and software programs
- Ability to grow an engineering group with proven technical leadership
