Objective of job:

The Design & Release Engineer works within a team of design, system, calibration, application, validation, quality, battery, and power device engineers to develop Hybrid Powertrain Systems for FCA vehicles in APAC region. The candidate will work with the counterpart in NAFTA ePT COE to complete below tasks (mostly in a supporting role) for designated programs.                                

Task description:

• Create/author component Performance Specification (PF-Spec)
• Hardware interface to core
• Ownership of pre-source & source packages
• Component releasing
• Procurement requests to support component & ED&D milestone deliverables
• Ownership of cost, investment, and weight targets
• Component technical design reviews and signoffs with support of experts
• Populate component device transmittals
• Design for manufacturing (DFM) engineering lead (in house design)
• Design Office Interaction
• Develop hardware implementation cadence for all functional customer usages
• Lead Component EMC validation and issue resolution, publish reports
• Lead Torque Fastener Specifications
• Shipping Packaging
• Support vehicle packaging efforts
• Lead component DFMEA and provide reports
• PFMEA Support
• Lead component DVP & R
• Create hardware recovery plan
• Design/OPL(open points list) issues management & documentation / PDT reviews
• Provide technical support for PPAP, ensure documentation is completed
• Track component warranty

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Mechanical/Electrical/Control/Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering

- Experience: Minimum 5 years of total industrial experience, 3 years in automotive, and 2 years in quality & reliability for product development

- Skills & Competence:

1.     Experience of design & release in a cross functional product development environment

2.     Experience of powertrain and vehicle product development processes Experience with calibration tools ( INCA, Matlab Simulink, CANalyzer, CANoe)

3.     knowledge of component and system development, test, and validation

4.     Experience of electrified powertrain or vehicles

5.     Project management skill is a plus

6.     knowledge/understanding of basic physics and mechanics

7.     English proficiency and strong communication skills
