Technician

Job Purpose

To provide technical advice and support to ensure that customer requirements are met

Job Descriptions:

1. Review samples to ensure that they meet product specifications

- Review samples such as style, construction, workmanship, quality, measurement and write sample comments

- Approve sample specifications and quality

- Identify and resolve sample issues such as workmanship and measurements etc.

- Discuss customers' comments and improvement areas with customers, factories and merchandisers



2. Provide technical advice and support to factories, customers, Merchandising staff and technical team members

- Explain customers' requirements, key points and comments to factories

- Identify and resolve potential sample issues

- Discuss alternatives with factories based on customers' comments

- Evaluate if there are any safety and functional issues and advise corrective solutions



3. Provide technical control to factories and Merchandising stuff

- Explain customers' basic requirements and standards to factories

- Provide advice on grading scales / tolerance levels to factories

- Discuss work progress and issues and difficulties encountered with merchandisers


4. Perform other duties as assigned by Management



Job Requirements:

1. Education Level: University graduate (Preferable in wood/furniture)

2. Years of Experience: above 7 years experience in furniture technology, focus on furniture, experience in furniture factory is good

3. Language Skills: Good command of Spoken & Written English.

4. Hand-on experience, energetic, proactive and decisive working style.

5. Self-motivated with Good interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills and excellent customer services.

6. Hard-working with frequent travel in North China.

7. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc), auto-CAD and Photoshop.
