SUMMARY OVERVIEW

A Program Engineer is responsible for insuring the phase gate technical milestones are met, is the leader of technical reviews, and is responsible for making sure that the specification requirements inputs and design outputs align. This engineer will have demonstrated experience at releasing product into a production environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



- Specify and design mechanical components and sub-assemblies - Specify or design and develop components for a full BOM including formed metal parts, injection molded rubber/plastic components, labels, machined/cast metal parts, structural items, fans, fasteners, gaskets, clips, and other hardware.

- Develop relationships with suppliers to help generate component specifications and to perform make vs. buy analysis.

- Assist in the development of relationships and requirements for engineering service suppliers.

- Ensure that the design of all components facilitates handling throughout the product life cycle from shipping through disassembly and recycling.

- Utilize company standard practices for engineering design and project work including PDfSS, FMEA, and other divisional tools/processes.

- Assist in establishing a quality system - Support APQP efforts to ensure the delivery of a quality finished product and process. Assist in the development and implementation of a control plan.

- Manage engineering documentation to ensure a sensible archive of information including engineering calculations, engineering drawings, intellectual property, DFMEAs, validation reports, meeting minutes, trip reports, supplier evaluations, and customer documents/communication.

- Provide technical direction to designers, engineers, suppliers, and support personnel as needed.

- Meet the requirements of Sr. Design Engineer

- Work with Project Managers in the quoting process.

- Provide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.

- Is expected to support the development and utilization of processes for design.

- At the appropriate process phase gates, drive the delivery of a complete design package to be entered into our PDM system consisting of requirements and design documentation, databases, BOM's, etc.

- To manage and drive the build readiness, including BOM, equipment, the line, resources and daily progress or yield reporting plan for the success product build

- Lead all elements of design engineering including design reviews, design verification requirement & Spec developments and implementation.

- Provide onsite technical support for all manufacturing builds including engineering prototypes, NPI & production releases.

- To participate in Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and supporting supplier selection decisions

- To have overall monitor and control on the project and product scope, cost, schedule and final deliverables for meeting stakeholder's expectations

- From Drawings to Mass Production, Manage the New product development Project including :

A) Manufacturing Strategy Definition for New Product;

B) Manufacturing of Tooling;

C) Cost Management;

D) BOM of Material Creation;

E) QC Control Documents for New Products;

F) Prototype Approval & First off Mass Production Approval;



Qualifications desired:

- 5+ years work experience in Engineering Department and in manufacturing-related Program or Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Of the 5 year- experience, a minimum of 2 years should be in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving electronics fabrication and injection molding.
- Candidate must demonstrate advanced level of knowledge in manufacturing disciplines; possess excellent communications and leadership skills, ability to work well with cross functional groups, ability to work independently with remote supervision.
- Communication in English and Chinese, both written and spoken, is required as a high standard.
- B.S. degree is a must (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
