This critical position is focusing on "strategic", driving better sourcing of supply chain resources and lower cost of purchase to derive higher yield value of purchase and financing, thus driving better overall purchasing financial performance. It is to be a key member and contributor in the continuous development of a company's strategic sourcing process and ensuring the process is well understood, implemented and executed in the organization.
Main Responsibilities
Global Sourcing Management:
Develop and manage commodity specific supply base to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are achieved;
Provide commodity technology road-maps and business strategies on which company can draw upon;
Present the supply strategy in a manner easily understood throughout the organization;
Collaborate openly with other corporate functions such as planning, production, technology and finance;
Strategic Sourcing Management:
Develop effective sourcing strategies that increase flexibility and leverage within company's supply base;
Lead team in developing spend profile, supplier portfolio, supply market analysis, etc.;
Ensure implementation of and compliance to company supply management strategy, guidelines and processes;
Participate in the sourcing process for individual supply account for assisting in critical supplier negotiations and relationship building;
Lead in the development and execution of strategic agreement negotiations;
Cross-Functional Team Management:
Ensure the involvement of Subject Matter Experts from Production, Engineering, Planning, Supplier Quality and R&D in the sourcing process;
Support the design and execution of strategic supplier initiatives in a partnership manner;
Leadership:
Lead by example and shares success with other team members;

Lead through empowerment and instills sense of responsibility and self discipline;
Problem Solving/Resolution:
Develop solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation, ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives;
Communication:
Act as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities and long-range goals and objectives;
Relationship Management:
Ability to develop peer relationships with senior executives, customers, and suppliers.
Qualification & Experiences
Degree or equivalent coupled with a minimum 10 years progressive experience
in sourcing and Logistic management;
Extensive experience in sourcing and in a senior management position, in
multinational company preferably automotive industry (5 to 8 year's min.);
Advanced presentation skills adaptable to the business environment;
Develop relationships with external suppliers based upon ethics, respect, and
commitment to customer expectations;
Deep understanding of commodity and related product categories, supply markets, suppliers and products;
Demonstrate knowledge of the sourcing process including various sourcing strategies;
Comfortable driving change & embracing innovation in complex, ambiguous
environment;
Self-starter with the ability to find and present solutions;
Embrace a diversity of ideas, approaches and points of view;
Able to influence key members of the organization and also be a team player; Able to work under pressure;
Be proficient in international organizational culture and Chinese cultures and
languages (English and Mandarin).
