1.Good Customer relations: Make sure staff are trained, make sure a handbook is made for ALL with do’s and don’t and trouble shooting on problems with customers,. This can be implemented in the form of weekly lessons. Liaise with GM to check on promotions and other events, gain information from customers on what they expect for Blue Marlin, through talking to them, reading forums and comments. Through talking to them and the GM feedback. Ensure there is a clear comments and suggestions box in Blue Marlin bar and restaurant. The information should be included in the monthly report.

2.Finance and Budgets: Check on how each promotion went, did we make money? Initiate cost saving measures where necessary. Check on costs for alcohol and food, where are we making money and where are we losing money, ensure promotions are based on this too. Ensure a monthly report is published on findings and GM’s are aware of their cities strengths and weaknesses. Include a Operation Checklist in the reports, make sure they are followed, if not then Corrective Action Plan’s need to be implemented. Make sure all reports keep to the Companies standard. Ensure a clear department budget is made before any event and it is stuck to wherever possible.

3.Events Management: Helping Gm and headquarter plan the yearly marketing plan. Plan and co-ordinate all events and parties, finding sponsors. For all of the above; sponsors, prizes, tickets, decorations, bands, posters and advertising, menu’s and all other designs are also part of the responsibility of the Area Manager to co-ordinate alongside each event as necessary.

5.Reporting: Handbooks for staff are updated regularly with new promotions and food and drink changes. Daily report should be passed to the CEO, GM and marketing Director. Gain data needed for the monthly report, this should be passed to the Area Manager weekly, the format shall be proved to them to fill in, so to speak. This shall be followed up with a Weekly visit to local companies and customers.

Maintaining our social media networks such as updating events and promotions, attracting new demographics through facebook and weibo. Also analyzing online forums.

7.Customer data base: Collecting and maintaining customers’ information through business card exchange and social and business networking. Sending out the monthly newsletter and informing customers via the email database software.

8.Monthly Report: Shall highlight Performance for that Month. Each report should include suggestions for the next month and next months goals. To see weather the cities are on route to meet the Companies yearly targets each month.
