DIMENSIONS OF POSITION:


Self motivated, since operates independently with minimal supervision, with responsiblity for supporting MPP plastic operation, including process and equipment. Authorized to make the decisions necessary to support this product line in a cost effective manner. Provides leadership and training to a variety of personnel who may report to others in the plant.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*Education: BS degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivelant experience, Green Belt desirable, leadership training is desireable.

*Experience: A Minimum of 5 years experience in Plastic industry, Knowledge of advanced quality, project management, equipment maintenance techniques. Supervisory experience is desireable.

1. Supports the design, development and production launch of new business opportunities, to include provide input to quotes, prototype & production tool design inputs, leads the development and evaluation of the total manufacturing processes, interactive testing, process validations, part design recommendation to ensure proper transition of new parts, assemblies and processes into production. Manages and updates various databases to ensure proper documentation, tracking of project status & requirements.
2. Develops the production process for new plastic parts. Leads implementation of plastic process improvements, drives improvement strategies in all key metric areas, manages production flow and resources to meet quality, productivity and profitability targets. Provides technical support for equipment and tooling maintenance.
3. Maintains Quality control processes to ensure products meet quality standards. Provides technical services to systematically identify root causes of molding and secondary operation issues and implements corrective action. Manages process control plan, FMEA, problem sovingtools and resolving processing issues, including pursuing scrap reduction and cost reduction activities. Ensures quality of the product. Supports TS16949 & ISO 13485 initiatives.
4. Provides support to budgeting, plastic equipment purchasing, factory layout, resource and planning process under the MR&P corporate model to grow the plastic business on a continuous basis.
5. Provides direction to various technicians to meet internal & external requirements. Provides specific process training to the new and current employees, gives support to them in all issues and solving production and tooling problems
6. Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.
