Job Purpose

The R&D Manager will take the lead on executing R&D projects or accomplishing assigned major tasks in relation to the business objectives and strategies defined by the business units. These tasks may include product development projects, in-depth technical product supports or related R&D functional deliverables. This position will also manage day to day routine asks and lead the team on accomplishing deliverables and key business objectives. The R&D manager also will interact with other functions of the projects/tasks and report progress on any key milestones, risks and proposing mitigation plans back to the R&D Director.

Lead the team on deliver project milestones or functional tasks.

Managing day to day routine tasks of the project or related functions.

Report and potential risk and propose mitigation plan to R&D Director and other stakeholders.

Lead and facilitate the innovation process, creating innovative solutions and propose/submit IDR/patent applications. Point person to interact with other internal functions or external partners in relation to the projects/tasks.

Identify key technical problems and lead team efforts to formulate and execute the technical solutions or mitigation plans.

Actively acquiring key technology trends in the fields. Evaluate and assess competitive products, processes or new technologies. Advise R&D Director and members of R&D management on technology trends and identify potential risks.

Lead o participate in cross-functional planning, coordination and reviews in all phases of design review processes. · Improve and incorporate novel features into existing DS products/applications to meet the special needs in China market (in China for China).

Mentor, coach junior talent on the team.

Selection Criteria/Education/Experience & Competency任职资格/教育/经验和能力要求

? Master or PhD Degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Virology, or related biological fields with 4-6 years relevant industrial experience required or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Previous experience in IVD industries, especially in life sciences, such as cancer or HPV molecular or immunological diagnostics fields are given preferential consideration. Strong written and spoken Mandarin and English required for liaising with WW organizations.

? Cross functional team and leadership experience and interpersonal skill required

? Strong project management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills to work within tight deadlines.

? Experience in Class II-III medical device product registrations (direct/supporting) in China required

? Experience engaging and interacting with CFDA required

? Deep knowledge of medical device type testing requirements, regulatory guidance documents and standards required

? Experience shaping policy/ISO standards/other CFDA standards required

? Needs to be assertive and independent to reach out to global organizations and engage teams

? Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and strong background in product development process.

? Logical approach to the solution of problems and capacity for original thinking.

? Clear/Concise documentation and correspondence during project execution required

? Demonstrated ability to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other individuals and teams.
