The Project Manager Engineering is responsible for New Product Development projects within the Consumer Solutions Consumer Device B.U. Key is that the candidate has very strong leadership and project management skills. Preference is the candidate also has a Product engineering background along with good knowledge of cable assembly manufacturing technologies. Responsibilities:
> Total ownership of New Product Development projects
> Meet customer & internal project schedule (Time), profit & loss (Financial), product & process related requirements (Quality) and meet required service level.
> Manage (resources) Ensure the project is "staffed for success" Negotiate with functional managers and Project Approval Committee (PAC) to alleviate constraints as needed Able too resolve conflicts in the core team efficiently
> Communicate with (senior) management Build coalition of support within teams, local organization and cross regional Ensure that concerns are being addressed and escalated on time Able to co-operate with different cultures
> Discipline the System Ensure operating according to the LEANPD development process Qualification:
> Proven Leadership skills in multi-disciplinary teams in a fast paced and changing environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines
> Demonstrated ability to create and also effectively use project plans
> Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to cable assembly products
> Strong commercial sense, understa
> Ability to foresee possible bottlenecks and resolve them before they become significant issues
> Knowledge of matrix organization and how to navigate it
> Strong result driven and customer focus attitude
> Pro-active and motivated, able to transfer this to the project teams
> Master Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology and able project team members too follow this attitude.
> Creative, Innovative thinker
> Capability, motivation and career intentions to be functional manager and lead the project managers in the future. Experience & Education Required:
> Minimum of 5 years project management working experience gained in a U.S. or European company.
> Preferred have few years of engineering experience back-ground in product design, development, or manufacturing of electrical connector products
> Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent
> Excellent Chinese and English communication skill to interact with cross-functional local & global teams.
> Excellent presentation skills and knows how to "sell" nd cost breakdowns and locate areas for improvement, both on internal costing side and on sales selling side
