Alfa Laval products first entered the China market in the 1950s and the company started their first operations in China in 1984 when opening an office in Beijing. They have more than 2 200 employees working across the country in 10 sales offices, 5 service centers, a R&D site, distribution centers and three major manufacturing establishments. In addition to that, Alfa Laval has more than 120 authorized distributors covering the whole of China.
The Operations division within Alfa Laval is responsible for supplying the sales organization with the right quality products at the right time through efficient procurement, manufacturing and logistics. Operations Development (OD) is a separate unit within Operations, responsible for pro-actively supporting and developing the group's operations. Operations Development is now looking for an experienced Project Manager to strengthen the team.
THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
As a member of the OD team you will roll out and manage major improvement projects/programs involving all parts of the operations, with emphasis on supply chain management and ERP implementation. The projects, which are based on templates according to well-defined project methodologies, will have major impact on the group's internal technology, organization, people, structure and processes.
As project manager you will be responsible for developing and leading the teams within your projects and you will work closely with unit managers and members of the line organization.
The position is based in Kunshan but projects also involve the other manufacturing sites.
EXPERIENCE AND CHARACTERISTICS
As a Project Manager in OD you are independent, self-motivated and goal-oriented, and you can easily spot improvement opportunities. You have a strategic mindset and good understanding of the overall business processes. You are a persistent and result-driven leader who can drive results through people. You are social, honest and have excellent leadership and team management skills and have the ability to deal with and influence people at all levels through a persuasive and sensitive approach.
You have at least five years experience from production or manufacturing, and experience from successfully completing large projects. You should be familiar with supply chain management and have earlier experience from ERP implementations.
You preferably have a higher technical degree in engineering or industrial business. Experience from working for a foreign owned company is required and you have a good understanding of European business culture. You are fluent in both Mandarin and English.
