OVERVIEW:
Conduct new product development projects and provide technical support with the objective of meeting new product development and IP targets within the R&D policies, procedures and systems.
AREAS OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New Product Development
(i) Collect information from sales, market and customers, and propose new product development ideas;
(ii) Review the product patents, conduct feasibility study, prepare related document and present in some cases;
(iii)Lead design review and be responsible for technical risk evaluation and control following LEANPD process ;
(iv) Communicate the design principles to the project team and monitor the design progress and review the design result; in some cases, take on design responsibility and complete the rough sketches of items to be designed, either conventionally or with CAD equipment, usually in multi-view fashion;
(v) Develop testing procedure, draft testing plan and follow up testing schedule;
(vi) Release the products within authority limit according to LEANPD process;
in order to meet targeted new product development timeline, spending and quality.
Project Management
Monitor project schedule, update project progress (including cost to PjM), and drive overall project to successful achievement of the goal for R&D lead projects in order to meet targeted project timeline, spending and quality.
Technical Support
Provide technical support and training;
Help to resolve product design issues;
Provide design for marketing promotion purpose;
Support/coordinate overseas projects;
Prepare model request to model makers in order to ensure customer satisfaction with products and services.
Continuous Improvement
Conduct product/process improvement (as feasibility research, target setting, design, testing, document drafting and presentation) or lead some projects
in order to improve the product quality and operating process efficiency.
Innovation and IP
Search for related patents in the initial stage of projects;
evaluate the potential patent opportunity during project process; prepare patent document (PID) and review the document revised by third party in order to file more IP for TOSP's products.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design
5 years connectivity components design related experience, circular connector design experience is plus
Open minded, detail oriented, accountability, experienced with CAD tools (ProE, ProMechanica or Ansys,AutoCAD), good engineering drawing ability, experienced in injection, molding and tooling
