Operating since 1945, SKOPE Industries is a New Zealand based company which designs, manufactures and supplies commercial refrigeration products globally.
We are looking for a Quality Manager to be based in Huangdao and manage the SKOPE quality system with our Chinese manufacturing partners.

The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring that quality, process control and improvement responsibilities at third party production facilities in China are carried out to SKOPE and ISO quality specifications. They are also responsible for providing technical support for new products, specifically in the development of prototype products and their transition to full production.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise process and quality in third party production facilities.
- Provide leadership of quality by refining SKOPE’s quality plan as appropriate in partner operations.
- Monitor and develop the quality system to ensure continued compliance and effectiveness against ISO requirements’ and company policy.
- Provide leadership/supervision of the Quality Engineer.
- Analyse and enhance the quality system with the objective of continually improving the level of quality.
- Manage the development, implementation and accuracy of all quality documentation, with a focus on simplicity and ease of use on the shop floor in partner operations.
- Implement appropriate counter-measures to meet quality targets and company policy, using audit results and quality troubles analysis to determine key areas requiring attention.
- Manage significant quality issues that arise to minimise any adverse impact on SKOPE products, customers and production.
- Assess the performance and selection of Chinese suppliers, conducting audits with the Qingdao based Purchasing team as necessary. Provide assistance as necessary to successfully resolve supplier quality issues.
- Assist with production, and coordinate the adoption of SKOPE specific processes at partner production facilities.

Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related major.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a quality management position in refrigeration systems, or similar manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Detailed oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Be able to travel to New Zealand several times per year for training and work commitments.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external/internal customers and stakeholders.

- Starting date: September 2017
- Compensation: Will be negotiated with the successful candidate
