The senior software engineer is responsible for creating new, and improving existing applications in a high-load, high-availability environment, as well as helping to drive architecture and best practices across the team. The senior software engineer is expected to be a strong individual contributor in addition to effectively working with the team to drive project success.

Requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field, or equivalent training, and professional experience

2.A minimum of 6 years’ industry experience building web applications

3.Expert Java programming skills, and application development for the web

4.Expert analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

5.Strong knowledge of enterprise architectures, and patterns

6.Experience in designing and building scalable, reliable, maintainable, testable architectures for mission-critical applications

7.Comfortable with Linux / UNIX, Apache, and Tomcat

8.Thorough understanding of web-related technologies (e.g. HTML / XHTML, HTTP, SOAP, REST, TCP/IP, DNS)

9.Experience working with modern relational databases and SQL

10.Experience working in a team environment on multiple simultaneous projects

11.Passion for the web

Pluses

1.Experience working in very high-load environments

2.Experience working with non-SQL datastores

3.Experience in multiple different languages, web frameworks, and containers

4.Experience mentoring junior developers

5.Experience in Oracle is a huge plus!
