The incumbent, under moderate supervision and with his/her full competence, interdependently works with the team evaluating, selecting, incorporating standard engineering techniques and procedures, and using appropriate decision making methods to design, to test and to track tools to aid the new product launch, based on the process defined by manufacturing routing.

1. Determine the scope and criteria of assigned projects, for budget, schedule and standards, with the technical work with Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Product Engineer
2. Ensure that adequate information has been integrated into the design efforts, e.g. process, where to use, material specification, legal items, coordinating with concerned parties
3. Prepare the sketch drawing with all notes from concerned parties for review before the design
4. Work on the design of the tools needed, with the support from internal and from the supplier
5. Work on the determination for material quality, specification, timing and other requirements, playing an important role in cost, timing and quality control
6. Document all design information including criteria, history, machine layout and manufacturing drawings, calculations, decision making and lesson- learns
7. Incorporate DFX (Design For Manufacturing, Design For Testing, and Design For Maintenance) and CDC (Critical Design Characteristics) into the design to help the OEE on process capability (Cpk, Cp)
8. Implement standards seriously to make sure of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and quality meeting legislations and company policies
9. Direct and oversee the procurement and fabrication of the tools from technical side
10. Maintain tool cards for all production parts
11. Perform tools BOM review, ECN implementation and related SAP items, e.g. PM module
