Library System and Technical Officer takes leading role in the Library system strategic plan and implementation. The post holder will be responsible for all the technical duties and be a liaison with other departments and the IT solution providers.

Main Responsibility and Accountability:
1. To collect all the requests for information system development and maintenance in the Library daily operation.
2. To act as an administrator of all the library systems for the accounts and privilege management, to get all the technical problems sorted in the first place.
3. To plan and implement the library systems to suit the needs of the library professional services and activities.
4. To act as project manager when there is information system undergoing.
5. To research into the library and information profession to foresee the new trend in the industry and make the strategic plan for future development.

Personal Requirements

Skills and Knowledge:
1. Familiarity with all library systems, for example, Huiwen OPAC system or other ILS system.
2. Be familiar with programming language and be able to coding small applications.
3. High level of computer literacy, and contextual understanding of integrated library systems.
4. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
5. Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills and the ability to train and supervise trainees.
6. Strong commitment to service, and flexibility to adapt to an evolving environment.
7. Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and multi-task.
8. Aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, software engineering or information systems.
2. More than 3 years working experience in Library related field, rich experience in IT division of an academic library is preferred.
3. A professional qualification with working knowledge of an automated library system and cataloguing is preferred.
