Position Overview:
The Language and Culture Center (LCC) is responsible for language teaching at DKU, both English and Chinese. LCC is looking for an intern for fall semester 2017 (preferably August, 2017 – January, 2018) to provide administrative support to the center.

Reports to:
Director of Language and Culture Center

Essential Duties:
1. Manage daily administrative work of Language and Culture Center (LCC), for example, communications, reimbursements, purchasing, etc.
2. Support LCC activities and programs, such as the Kun opera club, pre-semester language testing, the Summer English Program.
3. Assist short-term international faculty from Duke and elsewhere; visitors to the LCC.
4. Support the MOOC learning group.
5. Assist with community volunteer activities.
6. Help design and produce LCC publicity materials.
7. Assist the Director with faculty recruitment.
8. Assist LCC faculty with research projects.
9. Other tasks as assigned by the Director.

Required Qualifications:
1. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student OR holds offer(s) from a graduate program of other universities
2. Strong command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
3. Familiarity with a range of computer software programs
4. Able to work at the LCC full time during fall semester 2017 (preferably August, 2017- January, 2018).
