Job Description:

Major Role: This role is responsible and accountable for the analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data including but not limited to; purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements.

People: - Works effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers at all levels.

Leadership: No direct reports. Will demonstrate project leadership skill level required to collect, compile, assimilate, communicate, and maintain information as required. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization.

Strategy: Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of Global Purchasing strategic initiatives.

Customers: This role may support Buyers, Supplier Development Engineers, and/or Managers working with category teams and sites. Customer(s) will be fully informed of progress on assignments to ensure all requirements are met.

Travel: Limited travel may be required to support category or site management.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

Administrative background in Purchasing, Finance, or Manufacturing Operations preferred. Career advancement to a Buyer position will require a Bachelor’s degree or a country specific equivalent.

Intermediate to advanced skill in use of computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, purchasing systems, and e-mail systems is preferred.

Effective communicator (oral and written)

Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style

Familiar with basic procurement and quality principles, procedures, and techniques

Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment

Requirement:

Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management preferred, e.g.; Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM), or comparable international certification is preferred.

Affiliation with Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), or comparable professional purchasing organization, preferred.

Previous 6 Sigma Greenbelt/Black Belt experience preferred

Knowledge of Quality, Cost Modeling, and NPI tools is preferred
