Role and Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will work directly under the General Manager, and hold responsibility for the factory achieving its operational goals. This will include day to day management of production, materials and planning. The role will also encompass medium and long term capacity planning. Further ensures that all forms of in-plant communication is targeted at keeping staff abreast of new developments along with continuous improvement in the areas of efficiency, quality, on time delivery and cost. A major part of this role is implementing 5S and best practice operations within MML Suzhou.
The Operations Manager typical work activities include:
*Management of day to day operations
* Receive and schedule both internal and external orders
* Schedule manufacturing, purchasing and logistics
* Liase with other departments and top management
Drive operational improvements
* Efficiency
* Quality
* Health & Safety
* Material utilisation
* Reduction of inventory
* Medium term Planning
* Ensure appropriate capacity
* Manpower
* Equipment
* Ensure efficient operations
* Material Utilisation

* Definition of Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Related Degree, Further education is a bonus . Significant experience in a related industry. Must have experience in a welding / metal work environment. Experience of managing low volume high mix, designed to order products is a benefit, as is experience of managing outfitting projects.Experience in a technical industry preferably automotive . Experience must include progressively more responsible positions in the areas of manufacturing plant leadership
Specific knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety Requirements.
Preferred Skills / additional requirements
*Effectively develop synergistic manufacturing relationships as required.
*Exceptional operational and control skills.
*Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
