This Sr. Buyer/Buyer is responsible for procurement of Capital Equipment(CapEx) and relation Services of Capital Equipment, Spare Parts of Capital Equipment, Engineering Services, covering 2 factories at Suzhou. This Sr. Buyer/ Buyer reports to Supervisor, who is leading all of indirect material and services procurement for these 2 factories. Meanwhile, this Sr. Buyer/Buyer need work closely with Regional Commodity Manager of CapEx, Global Commodity Director as well for Supplier Strategy and Commodity Strategy.
Responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services.
Gathers quotations from approved vendors, examines bids, and makes awards. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.
Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
Expedites the delivery of purchased items in order to meet customer required delivery schedules.
Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
May recommend cost savings proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria. May assist SBM, SBS, and/or Purchasing Manager in development of new contracts such as, but not limited to, terms and conditions, stocking agreements, etc.
