Main responsibilities:

- Create and develop product engineering facilities in Asia region

Direct the activities of subordinate engineers and technical personnel
to deliver new products and services that meet APQP quality,
manufacturing and customer requirements

- Ensure through prioritization and resource management the on-time delivery of engineering projects and deliverables

Develop, implement processes and methods that ensure that quality,
manufacturing and design standards are met and maintained for all
department deliverables

- Ensure all applicable industry, government, and customer requirements and related specifications are met as required

Cause to be created, maintained and utilized product and design method
standards (GD&T, CAD format, product and test specification, etc.)

Provide engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, prints,
specifications, product maintenance, raw materials, and vended products
throughout the organization

- Recommend methods, materials, and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities

Build, develop, and manage a high performance product engineering team
capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives in a fact-based,
continuously improving operation

- Ensure participation of non-departmental resources as needed to meet APQP requirements

Establish and maintain an environment that insures succession planning,
technical leadership training, management, people, motivation, and
reward

- Gather knowledge on competitor product performance

- Participate in the development of product technology road maps and develop products that meet global market needs

- Create, track and review Engineering KPI's compared to plan and initiate action as needed to insure plans are met

- Support tech service and sales with documentation and presentation material

- Chair the cross-functional Change management team at the location

- Utilize product warranty and other failure data to improve future product performance and reliability

Support other functions as needed to meet departmental targets
including cross-training the engineering staff in quality, manufacturing
and sourcing skills

- Initiate product cost-reduction,
rationalization, and product improvement projects with the goal to drive
down warranty, scrap, direct material, direct labor costs

- Ensure execution of problem-solving and corrective actions as set by APQP standards

- In addition, communicate and follow customer notification guidelines

Requirements:

- University degree in Engineering; Master in Engineering or Business preferred

- Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience with progressive responsibilities within a manufacturing environment

- Knowledge of automotive industry; passenger or heavy truck preferred

- Computer skills required

- Good in English (both spoken and written)

- Good leadership and communication skills

- Strong influencing, relationship-building, collaboration, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
