The IT specialist(temporary), based in Suzhou,to speed to manage desktop support issues focusing primarily on relieving the desktop support backlog in DCAP.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor degree in information technology or a related discipline
2. Specific Skills (job knowledge, technical skills, interpersonal skills, management skills etc)
*Experience in remote user support
*Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows XP/7/2008R2, Oracle, MS Office Application, Symantec Antivirus, Cisco VPN, Shoretel or other VoIP Telephony system
*Ability to assist users with basic hardware and software problems (i.e., spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, communications, Oracle, Outlook, Client Access, Internet Browsers, etc.) and product configurations within microcomputers, modems printers and monitors.
*The ability to multitask and to work well within a team environment while keeping the customers’ needs as a priority at all times.
*Strong customer service mindset
3. Other Skills (Computer literacy, written & spoken languages etc)
*Fluent spoken and written English
*Some Mandarin or Cantonese preferable
*Good interpersonal communication skills
4. Able to work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple tasks.PRINCIPAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Colleague Support and Interaction 35%
*Respond quickly and professionally to employee calls and/or tickets. Troubleshoot and correct software and hardware problems.
*Own issue resolution from start to finish by monitoring unresolved issues and requests to ensure prompt resolution.
*Communicate clearly with each customer to ensure their understanding of next steps and likely resolution time-frames.
*Ensure that every customer is highly satisfied with the support received.
2. Issue Troubleshooting 35%
*Resolve computer data, networking, printing, hardware and software related issues through in-depth troubleshooting and technical assistance.
*Troubleshoot and correct problems with typical desktop applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
*Troubleshoot local, national, and international remote access issues.
*Identify initial issues associated with local area network.
*Act as point of escalation on more complex issues to Corporate IT team.
3. Ongoing Maintenance 20%
*Install and configure hardware and software for end users ensuring compatibility with existing equipment and applications. May include upgrades, repairs, and suggestions for hardware and software.
*Roll out new applications & operating systems. Upgrading hardware/software as necessary.
*Work with vendors to ensure equipment and applications are repaired and upgraded.
*Install/configure local and network printers.
*Remove and re-format end of life PC’s for return to inventory.
*Accurately maintain databases used for managing hardware, software and support.
*Assist with management of equipment, repairs, and final disposition within a database.
