Responsibilities:
? Support APAC plants (Changsha , Guangzhou, etc.) regarding welding/joining issues, and ensure FAC standards are followed.
? ensure that we are meeting or exceeding all legal and regulatory requirements related to joining of materials
? Actively participate in global welding COC(Centre of Competence).
? Ensure the successful implementation of FCA projects to meet our production roadmap projects in respect to joining process
? Drive improvement of all kpi’s, key quality indicators( both relating to joining and impacting dimensional) , life cycle cost reductions, MTTR and MTBF pertaining to joining
? Actively support the implementation of WCT and WCM
? Perform Detail process design and analysis to determine best solution for various type of joints and the welding/joining schedules
? Have a basic understanding of the BIW build process (Underbody, Body side, Body welding, and closure builds etc)
? have Deep understanding of the following
? GMAW
? RW
? Laser welding
? Laser Brazing
? Drawn Arc welding
? Mechanical clinching
? Self-piercing rivet
? Laser cutting
? Be proactive in reviewing product design and to perform the required process analysis for joining
? Provide technical support for preparation of quotation packages, budgets, timing review of quotations and supplier evaluations and recommendations.
? Follow the design, build, installation, start up and certification of the equipment/product while meeting or exceeding target for investments, quality, timing working and working with the other parties involved.
? Control cost/budget during all the project phases and maximizing reuse of assets
? Interfacing with IT as required
? Work as team including Joint Venture team members, APAC, NAFTA, EMEA
? Perform PFMEA’s as required
? Continue identifying and evaluating potential new technologies for joining and inspecting and how they can be applied to our processes
? Ensure all new installation are expulsion free and provide support to JV’s to make existing installations expulsion free
Qualifications
? Education: Mechanical Bachelor or Master Degree preferably Welding degree
? Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in automotive industry.

- Skills & Competence: Able to access the Engineering database (CODEP - IMAN), to have contacts with product Engineering, AME to analyze impact on joining process, tooling and equipment.
