Position Summary
Duke Kunshan University is offering the Duke University Talent Identification Program’s (Duke TIP) Summer Studies Program in China for academically talented 8-10th grade students from around the world from July 9-29, 2017. The clinical supervisor will supervise the psychological counselor for Duke TIP. The primary responsibility of the supervisor is to provide support and assistance to the psychological counselor and to assist in the event of an emergency or situation involving a staff member or student in emotional or psychological distress.
The primary responsibilities of the psychological counselor are providing assistance for students who are experiencing social or emotional difficulties, overseeing the general health and wellbeing of the staff and students, and supporting all instructional and residential staff members during the Summer Studies Program. The psychological counselor also assists with students experiencing stress pertaining to academics.

Qualifications
Fully licensed Clinical Psychologist or Psychiatrist. Experience supervising and mentoring individuals pursuing their psychological degree or license preferred and working with adolescents preferred. The clinical supervisor will ideally be fluent in English and Chinese.

General Expectations
Hold a Skype or face-to-face consultation with the TIP psychological counselor at least once a week during the three week term (July 9-29).
Be available for phone consultation 7 days a week, 24 hours a day should the counselor encounter situations that require consultation.
Be available by phone to the Duke TIP director of international programs should an issue merit discussion.
Review Duke Minors Protection Training that will be provided by Duke TIP.
Review the TIP Counselor's manual and counselor resume that you will receive by email.
Facilitate any local access to in-patient resources if a situation should arise in which these are required. 举报 分享
