Roles and Responsibilities
* Prepare and coordinate material cost related activities independently
* Prepare Request For Quotation (RFQ) package and maintain supplier contact database.
* Consolidate all vendors input and negotiate with suppliers on RFQ tenders for cost competitiveness.
* Prepare cost reduction and value engineering proposal.
* Develop and implement BTP commodity strategies.
* Engage proactively in continuous process improvement.
* Develop long term relationships with strategic suppliers.
* Collaborate with internal clients and counterparts worldwide.
* Prepare commodity training materials for management, internal clients and counterparts.
* Consolidate, tabulate, analyze and report on various commitments and performance metrics
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
* Must be analytical, self-motivated, detail-oriented, hard-working and willing to learn.
* In-depth and broad knowledge of the marketplace conditions for the area of specialization including industry pricing, technology and supply/demand trends.
* In-depth knowledge of materials, components, manufacturing processes and equipment used for the specialized BTP commodity.
* Strong knowledge of basic computer applications and the ability to learn and use multiple applications specific to this department, including CRM, ERP and office systems.
* Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
* Ability to read and understand technical datasheets.
* Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
* Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Candidate equips with one or more of the following qualities would be advantageous
* Experience in Contract Manufacturing (CM), OEM, ODM, EMS environment.
* Experience in Build-to-Print Commodities manufacturing environment (e.g. PCB, Interconnect, Sheetmetal & Plastics).
* Experience in Electronics Components manufacturing environment (e.g. Passives, Discrete & Semiconductor).
* Experience in R&D, Product Design and Circuitry Design.
* Experience in Multi-National Corporation and Matrix Reporting Organization.
* Experience in Multicultural working environment.
* Hand-on experience in Advanced MS-Excel and CAD Drawing Software
* Good Command of Foreign Languages other than English
Physical Demands:
* Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
* Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
* Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
