职位描述：
Purpose of the Job:
The D&D engineer is in his technical field responsible for de product development of new products and responsible for the management, organization and planning of customer projects to be able to deliver these projects within the projected timing and budget.
The function reports to Engineering Manager. The D&D engineer coordinates the activities of the project team as the "project manager". This is a temporary functional management.

Basic education: Bachelor's degree or above

Language knowledge: Good orally and written in English

Relevant Experience: 5 or avover years of relevant experience required

Accountabilities:
Accountability 1
The D&D defines and works out the product concept and product work flow, based on the input of the customer to be able to translate the customer’s specifications into a product that can be produced in the most economical way by using our technology.
This includes among others the following tasks:
- The D&D engineer develops the concept of new products, do research to find the most optimal materials.
- He defines together with Manufacturing engineering the whole process flow and the development of the product/project
- Plans and organizes meetings with design engineers so they are fully informed of the customer’s requirement to work out the concept
- works together with the design engineers for the technical realization of tools and product designs

Accountability 2
The D&D engineer makes cost price calculations (part price and project cost) to be able to offer the most competitive price.
This includes among others the following tasks:
- based on the info he gets from the sales department, he will make the cost price after consultation with Manufacturing engineering
- When there are things not clear he will contact the sales responsible or talk with the customer directly
- When essential topics need to be changed he will discuss this first with the Key Account manager
- the cost calculation will be approved by the BUM, D&D manager, ME and sales manager

Accountability 3
the D&D engineer is responsible for the technical customer projects, assigned to him by the D&D manager and supported by the project team. This goes from design process to sampling and shipment of samples, this is accordance with the planning and budget as agreed between the customer and the Key Account Manager.
This includes among others the following tasks:
- the D7D engineer makes sure that the product specifications are clear and complete and are agreed with the customer
- He finalizes the technical specifications of the product based on the design input and the design reviews. He will freeze these specs and let them approve by the customer.
- Based on objective facts, he will prove that the design fulfills all requirements based on the design input specifications ( concept drawing, model, similar existing product, general specifications, safety and environmental specs, technical specs)

Accountability 4
The D&D engineer participates in regional or international project teams with internal and /or external employees to be able to realize all tasks which are part of the project scoop and to be able to finish the project in the timing and budget as agreed.
This includes among others the following tasks:
- the engineer makes sure that all team members can realize their tasks ( gives sufficient input )
- the engineer reports the progress towards the project team.

Accountability 5
The D&D engineer gives technical support and information to the sales department to be able to realize the sales deal.
This includes among others the following tasks:
- Joins sales to go to the customer or goes alone to the customer. Each customer visit should be discussed with the D&D manager.
- The D&D engineer is the technical specialist of the products and processes and can take charge of the technical topics during the negotiations.

Accountability 6
Works together with Manufacturing Engineering to be able to implement new projects in the most fluent way
This includes among others the following tasks:
- The D&D engineer implements new proto’s in cooperation with ME. He will also define the process flow

Accountability 7
Is responsible for engineering changes to be able to implement them in a controlled way
This includes among others the following tasks:
- The engineer will evaluate the request based on the technical feasibility, makes risk analysis, makes cost analysis
- the engineer will communicate the progress and technical aspects towards the customer
- after approval the engineer will launch these changes as a new project

Accountability 8
The D&D engineer will do focused customer visits at Key Accounts to try to build up a stronger business relation from the technical side
This includes among others the following tasks:
- makes technical proposals to the customer to answer his expectations and needs. Doing this, the engineer is constantly up to date with of the new developments at the customer’s site.

Accountability 9
The D&D engineer keeps in account all safety and environmental specifications which are related to the project. He will identify risks related to safety and environment to be able to execute the project in the most safe way.
This includes among others the following tasks:
- during the project evaluation the engineer will screen if the type or the size of the project has impact on the existing environmental legislation. If so he will communicate this to the management to take the necessary actions
the engineer makes sure that next to the legal specifications of the customer related to safety and environment, he will also avoid the usage of environmental dangerous products and that un-safe
