This is a rare opportunity to join a high performing organization in Asia Pacific as part of a Global team, reporting directly to the Vice President: Technology of the TE Corporate Global Operations team. This role will be a focal point of deployment on mostly existing automation manufacturing technologies. This role will also have opportunities to involve in technology strategy development, and to charter the realization of new manufacturing solutions and platforms at TE manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific region.
 
The candidate shall exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. Applies and/or develops highly advanced principals and practices in management science and/or industrial and systems engineering. Have multiple areas of expertise and broad knowledge of industry. Viewed as an expert internally and externally within the field. Interacts effectively with customers at all levels.
 
Possessing a strong work ethic, a global mind-set, and a can-do attitude, the successful candidate will have sophisticated interpersonal skills in building relationships and communicating effectively. The ideal candidate will be substantive in their innovative project business management discipline with high emotional intelligence to understand subtlety and grasp details and nuances.

Key Responsibilities:
 
As a key leader in the Assembly Automation CoE in Asia Pacific, implement Assembly Automation competency in TE plants in Asia Pacific with collaboration with other region and technology functions CoEs globally.
As part of the key owners of the Assembly Automation CoE roadmaps, and standards for assembly automation processes applying the latest innovative technologies to maximize benefits for TE.
Working with TE plants and local partners to identify assembly automation innovation opportunities, to earn project approvals, and to manage multiple projects for on target implementation.
Supporting and deploying automation projects with optimized business value created and ranked to applicable sites in TE Asia Pacific.
Categorize portfolio of technology projects according to strategic roadmaps that maximize benefits for TE businesses.
Charter together with the business units to define and to realize advanced manufacturing development projects.
Assist in evaluation on what technologies should be sourced internally or externally based on solid operation research and business science.
Organize, assist, and measure technical project implementations and the economic results.
Execute and assist in strategic planning to support manufacturing growth with the best possible business results, and to influence senior leadership by proposing various beneficial and maybe different automation technology approaches.
Involve in manufacturing project sourcing and transition, allowing for the seamless transition of new technologies to TE facilities.
 
Key Requirements:
 
A service leadership collaborator with clearly demonstrated experience and a track record of systemizing new manufacturing technologies.
Ability to bring together diverse BU requirements and work across organizational boundaries to deliver innovative solutions with broad applications.
Knowledge of engineering economics, statistical techniques, basic industrial engineering and operational research, project management, and the application of them in manufacturing technology innovation and deployment.
Experienced in organizing manufacturing technology strategic initiatives based on solid business values.
Excellent business acumen in an innovative environment with deep experience in analyzing commercial value of technical project capabilities.
Relevant business experience in TE’s market segments: transportation, energy networks, electronic devices, communication networks, sensors, medical, appliances, and networked within the targeted collaborator community would be a plus.
Ability to communicate vision and inspire people at every level to deliver and execute the manufacturing strategy of the Assembly Automation CoE.
Experienced in matrix management with a track record of being able to manage by influence and coordinate cross business unit activities.
A track record of defining and executing strategy and fact-finding projects to answer specific business or technology questions and opportunities.
Practical knowledge on Assembly Automation
Willingness to travel frequently, and as necessary to support BU needs not only in Asia Pacific, but also globally.
 
 
Minimum Professional Background Desired:
A demonstrated track record of successfully and effectively collaborated step change in manufacturing through technological improvements.
Experience in Engineering Integration and Global Operations in a matrix working structure.
Strong detail oriented and goal focused project management competencies are essential
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business Management with 10 or more years of experience required. Master’s degree with 5 or more years of experience preferred. Professional Engineer status is strongly preferred.
Proficient English language capability is required.
