POSITION SUMMARY
Conduct structural NVH and durability analyses using FEA on current and new products to provide design direction and verification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Create and analyze finite element models consistent with product use environment.
2. Generate technical reports and present to internal and external customers.
3. Verify (Correlate) simulation results with testing. Demonstrate agreement of simulation with actual measurement.
4. Develop and implement optimization tools to expedite the product development process
5. Work closely with business unit engineers and communicate between our organization and customer as needed.
6. Support Product Development Cycle and APQP (DFMEA, etc.)
7. Participate in the development of improved design guidelines consistent with customer requirements.
8. Applies engineering and problem solving methods and tools (FMEAs, 8ds, stress analysis) in resolving engineering design problems.
9. Perform appropriate level of CAD function to develop design concept.
10. Support and adhere to TA EH&S policies and procedures.
11. Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Advanced Degree a plus.
2. Min 5 years of Finite Element Analysis and CAD experience required.
3. Prior experience with structural NVH, Durability, optimization and automotive chassis product development strongly preferred, total 5 years experience, or 3 years plus Advanced Degree.
4. Experience using the following tools also preferred: HyperMesh/ HyperWork, MSC/NASTRAN, I-DEAS, UG or Catia experience a plus.
