Overview:

The Demand Manager position is responsible for all regional forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The position creates and maintains forecast models and quarter billing projection for distribution, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, finance and other sources. The Demand Manager is the regional focal point for BU/GIBU operational departments in support of the Channel forecast within Sales & Operations Planning (SO&P). This position is the central contact for BU Planning and coordinates actions for quarter billing obtainment in conjunction with Sales and Customer Care.

Key Tasks:
Develop demand forecasts for key customers and BU/GIBU’s in support of the Channel sales forecast.
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data and evaluate accuracy of forecast results.
Co-ordinate cross-functional activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales or customer input.
Interact with regional sales and finance to understand forecast drivers, gain consensus and align forecast model to finance guidance projections.
Monitor demand plan versus actual results on monthly basis, perform root cause analysis and drive improvement activities.
Input and maintain information in the demand planning software, use as the primary forecasting system tool and comply with established timeframes to support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Provide input and preparation of data used for the supply planning consensus meetings.
Monitor distributor ordering and stocking behavior to ensure results are achieved and direct improvements based on performance indicators
Assess and develop recommendations and policies around unused distributor inventory and obsolete or end of-life products
 
Key Performance Measurements:
Forecast accuracy reporting that predicts regional customer demand and provides the BU/GBIUs with the appropriate information to plan how to meet customer demand.
Strong alignment among sales, finance, and operational demand management that continuously improve and align the demand and financial forecast.
Effectively communicate with key customers on forecast performance and develop improvement activities that better anticipate customer needs.
Support billing and booking initiatives that drive gap closure in meeting Channel forecast commitments.

Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all business functions and management levels supporting the forecast process.
Strong analytical ability to mine data and derive critical information from varied inputs.
Demonstrated team building, organizational, time management and decision making skills.
Fast learner and capable of adapting to new requirements and systems.
Enthusiasm and willingness to drive continuous improvement into the forecast process.
Highly motivated individual comfortable with remote reporting relationship.
 
 
Key Qualifications, Experiences and Knowledge:
 
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Supply Chain or Finance.
2-3 years demand management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Working knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain and planning operations.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft office
Flexibility to support global collaboration outside normal work hours.
 
Preferred:
5-7 years demand management experience in large manufacturing or distribution environment.
Experience with JDA and Xelus forecast software.
Functional knowledge of report generation in TED Database.
APICS certification.
